Since 2017, collaborating with artists has been at the core of what we do. Our teams seek out creative voices from around the world and use our platform to showcase and celebrate their work.

So, without further ado, we are proud to introduce our very first L&Y artist collection with Annabelle, founder of Graphics and Grain.

Annabelle’s collection has been inspired by her belief that you don’t always have to wait for the right time to do something. That perhaps the perfect time could be right now. That ‘why not now?’ philosophy has guided Annabelle’s art, but also inspired her to pack her bags and set out on an extraordinary cycling adventure as she cycles from Norway, through Europe, through Africa and later onto Asia. Her adventure is a reminder to embrace each moment as it comes, to stay curious, and to find inspiration wherever you are.

Annabelle is the artist behind Graphics and Grain, and her work is rooted in curiosity, creativity, and the world around her. For the past three years, Annabelle has been travelling full-time since becoming a full-time artist. When she’s not creating, she can often be found reading for hours in the sun, getting lost in new characters and stories. She also has a love for photography where she captures everyday moments on both her phone and a rotating collection of point-and-shoot film cameras.

Recently, she has rediscovered her love for movement, finding joy in running, practicing yoga, and even playing ping pong (love). 

Travel plays a central role in her life and creative process. She finds inspiration in wandering through new cities, taking in unfamiliar landscapes, and embracing new experiences. Creating on the go allows her to continuously draw from her surroundings, shaping her work through the places and moments she encounters.

Her work is heavily inspired by the outdoors, particularly the mountains as it’s a place where she finds, that in big outdoor spaces, is when she feels the most connected to herself and the world as a whole. You can see the love of nature flow throughout her artwork, especially through her use of organic colour palettes and natural imagery. Annabelle’s artwork encourages us all to have a more positive outlook on life, through positive phrases and affirmations and she hopes that her pieces can bring the same sense of calm, joy, and connection that nature brings her.

Originally from New York, Annabelle spent the years before travelling in New Orleans, Louisiana, a city that is bursting with artistic inspiration! During the early days of the pandemic, her time there provided the creative freedom to experiment with different styles and mediums, ultimately laying the foundations for Graphics and Grain.
