Rumi - Brushed Cotton Barrel Trousers in Plum Perfect

Gorgeous trousers in a beautiful lavender blue colour. I like the new sizing - as a short person they fit much better. I’m 5ft1 and size 10-12 and wear a size 6 in these. As usual the sizing is huge and there’s never much stock in the smaller sizes.

These are great - lovely and spacious, but not too baggy. However, please downsize! As a man, I wasn't too sure what size to get; online said I would be size 24. However, I tried them on in-store, and I found that size 18 was the perfect size (and I could've gone smaller!). For context, I'm about 5'11, but there is plenty of leg room. They're elasticated at the waist, too, for anyone wondering.

These definitely run big, and with the stretch I was really hoping for a drawstring or belt loops to keep them up, but there are none. Luckily, I do love huge pants. The colour in the plain blue is also a lot darker and less vibrant than it seemed to be in the images. I like the little embroidered decal and shape, though.

Lucy&yak sizing can be so frustrating. Especially with the price of international returns. Those are way to big in 14. Others in M are fine, some in 16 are too small. Have to send them back unfortunately.

I love this pants, I doubted they would look good on me, but I tried because I love how they look in the pictures and I'm so happy I did! They are soft (so soft!) and the cotton is not too thin (i.e. the Alexa for me are more light summer pants, but these Rumi brushed cotton feels warmer).
But let's talk about the size, which is always complicated. (The one I bought said "new fit", I don't know about the "old fit").
I'm between 6 and 8 UK size, 6 in Alexa, 8 in Addison and Dana. I bought size 6 and they fit perfectly on my waist, of course the legs are oversized, but that's their style and distinctive trait.
