I love the cut of this, it reminds me of the clothes my mum would make herself in the late 80s and early 90s. I originally ordered the blue artisan floral patchwork but the pattern looked a bit overwhelming and maybe a bit mumsy on me - gave me “and a flattering top” vibes, but I think that’s because I’m petite and narrow shouldered but with a chest with pink/purple hair so can’t always pull off patterns. The pink micro gingham on the other hand is so much nicer on me - the slightly stiffer fabric sits better and the subtle pattern makes a good base for a statement necklace without looking fussy. I found an 8 to be perfect, which is the same size I wear in other L&Y blouses/tops. The length on me (5’3”, short body) is just at my waist, the same length as Greta T-shirts, so it looks great with my black beau trousers for work, or dark blue Drews with a belt for casual. Would have loved to see it in other simpler patterns or other gingham colours. I did try the matching shorts btw, but they didn’t work on me, but a sofiya skirt or the new Clara cut of skirt would have been gorgeous.
